Spanish

Jen Prince has a BA in Education and Spanish from John Carroll University in Ohio, an MA in Spanish Literature from Hunter College, City University of New York (CUNY), and a PhD in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures from The Graduate Center, CUNY. She taught middle school, high school, and college Spanish and Spanish-language literature in Ohio and New York before joining the faculty at Austin Waldorf School.

Exchange programs have been an important part of her learning and teaching experience as well. After hosting a Swiss exchange student for a year in high school, Jen spent a year at the University of Valencia in college, and she also taught English in Chile as part of the United Nations’ Inglés Abre Puertas program.

Although she grew up swimming competitively and has taught and coached swimming for the better part of 20 years, these days Jen also dedicates herself to running and is on the Board of Directors of the Austin Runners Club.

“I enjoy the Austin Waldorf School events: the plays, the concerts, the fairs, and other special days. Grandparents Day is wonderful for getting acquainted with other grandparents and special friends, the seniors, as well as the classrooms.”
