Geoff Lawson

Treasurer

Geoff grew up in central Illinois but moved to Texas to start high school in The Woodlands. He subsequently received a BS in computer science and MS in Finance from Texas A&M University. After graduate school, he met his wife Janet while working in the banking industry (focusing on real estate loans) and has been married to her for the past 30 years. Subsequently, he became an entrepreneur by opening and leading a finance business that catered to rapidly growing companies in a variety of industries. Having partnered with a local community bank, his business sold their portfolio of business in 2009 and Geoff began pursuing real estate opportunities full time.

Geoff and his wife Janet sought a school where their 9th grade daughter would be taught with an emphasis on the whole person versus an optimization on test taking capabilities. They were drawn to Waldorf by the quality of teachers and staff and by the familial feeling that permeated the school. Geoff has been a member of the Finance Committee for the last five years and continues to serve in that capacity along with serving on the Real Estate and Investment Committees.

In his spare time, Geoff enjoys; reading, traveling with his family, exploring the outdoors.

“Even though each of my children has different interests, personalities, and needs, this Waldorf high school has met them where they are and given them what they need to move forward and develop into great people.”
