Ryan Phillips

Director of College Counseling

Ryan Phillips holds a BA in History and English from Texas A&M University and an MA in Liberal Arts from St. John’s College. He comes to Austin Waldorf from the Headwaters School in Austin, Texas where he has taught HS Humanities classes, and at various times held the positions of Dean of Students, Head of Middle School, and Head of High School.

Previously Ryan was the Director of School Programs for the Touchstones Discussion Project where he led teacher trainings, presented at national conferences, and facilitated workshops for organizations such as the Ministry of Education in Jordan, and the CIA. He also led weekly seminars in the humanities at the Maryland House of Corrections in Jessup Maryland from 2007-2010.

Ryan married an AWS Graduate, Sarah Johnson Phillips, and they are the proud parents of two children.
