After earning her B.S. in Accounting from DePaul University in Chicago, Lee worked briefly in public accounting before joining the staff of Outside Magazine where she was Controller for 10 years. Her career also included the financial management of several Chicago area creative service firms including Leo Burnett Advertising Agency. When Leo Burnett was acquired in 2003, she found herself unemployed for the first time since high school. She learned to knit (14 sweaters in 4 months) and decided to leave the corporate world behind. She joined the staff of the Catherine Cook School as Director of Finance and Operations in May of 2003.
In the fall of 2006, Lee moved to Austin from Chicago to become the Austin Waldorf School Finance Director. She lives in Wimberley, enjoys gardening and spending time with her partner, Gary, and their dogs Mojo, Pete, and Dr. Wu.
