Feeling the Rhythm

Board Study of the Core Principles of Waldorf Education – Principal #5: Methodology of Teaching

Rhythm and Repetition in the Waldorf curriculum is priority for teachers and students. Healthy rhythms at home and school support the growing student and her development and education. A rhythmic lifestyle may include plenty of sleep, limited stress, instituting healthy habits, daily routines, and rhythmic lessons.

Waldorf teachers create a healthy rhythm in their daily, weekly, and seasonal structure of lesson plans to incorporate and balance movement, breathing, intellect, meditative breaths, stretching, and recitation, among others.
